TAD COUGHENOUR
began performing at age ten in his native Kingsport, Tennessee. Upon graduating High School, he apprenticed first at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA and later that year at Chicago City Ballet Company. Tad continued acting studies at American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. After graduation, he toured nationally in CABERET. Moving to L.A. in 1992, Tad joined Rachel Rosenthal Company, where his credits include: ZONE at the Wadsworth (1994), TOHUBOHU! (1995-97), TIMEPIECE (tour 1996-99), THE UNEXPURGATED VIRGIN (tour 1997-98), and MUCK (1998). In 1999, he performed in David Roussveās LOVE SONGS at Royce Hall, A THORN AT MY HEART at Highways, and AVION for the opening of the Festival of Performance at Ex-Teresa, Mexico City. In 2000, Tad received the Arts International Award and co-created PERFECT DAY for the Tanztage Pfefferberg Festival in Berlin, site-specific on the beach in Santa Monica, CA, and in Tanzmetropole, Munich in 2002 (paradeisproductions.com/ bisher.html). In August 2002, his one-man play THE VIEW FROM SKYLAND DRIVE work-shopped at arcade in the Helms Bakery and premiered in March 2003 at Chicagoās Athenaeum Theater. Evidence Room credits include THE STRIP as Romeo Mecklenburg, Ken Roht's critically acclaimed hit HE POUNCES and THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH.
