Adam Bock’s
THE RECEPTIONIST
Emmy-winning actress and singer Megan Mullally will lead the Evidence Room and
the Odyssey Theatre's co-production of Adam Bock’s The Receptionist from August 5th through
September 20th. The production will also star Jennifer Finnigan, Chris L. McKenna, and Jeff Perry and will be directed by Bart DeLorenzo.
***This production will perform at the Odyssey
Theatre at 2055 South Sepulveda Blvd. in West Los Angeles, between Olympic and Santa Monica Boulevards.***

advice and personal calls... it’s business-as-usual at the Northeast Office. Or is it? At
the start of a typical day in a typical office, Beverly deals effortlessly with ringing phones and
her colleague’s romantic troubles until the appearance of a charming rep from the Central Office disrupts
a friendly routine
Adam Bock won a 2006 Obie for his play The Thugs. The Receptionist
had its premiere at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 2007 and was nominated for 2007-2008 Outer Critic’s Circle Award
for Outstanding Off-Broadway Play.
ER company member Megan Mullally won two Emmy Awards and three Screen Actors Guild Awards for her performance in the NBC comedy
"Will & Grace" and in 2007 starred on Broadway in the Mel Brooks musical Young Frankenstein. She previously
appeared at the Evidence Room in Charles L. Mee’s The Berlin Circle (Best Actress - LA Weekly Award and Backstage Garland Award)
and Kelly Stuart’s Mayhem.
Jennifer Finnigan won three consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards for her performance in "The Bold and the Beautiful". She has
also starred on the series "Close to Home".
Chris L. McKenna has appeared in over 40 stage productions including You Can’t Take it With You at The Geffen Playhouse;
Light up the Sky for The Mammoth Players; Don’t Talk to the Actors at Laguna Playhouse and most recently Mauritius at
the Pasadena Playhouse. He has worked consistently in theater, TV and film including as a series regular on the
WB’s "Opposite Sex" and has been featured in many films including In & Out, King of the Ants and Art School Confidential.
Jeff Perry is a co-founder of Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He served as Artistic Director from
1982 to 1985 and 1986 to 1987. His many acting credits at Steppenwolf include Balm in Gilead (also Off-Broadway), The Time of Your Life (also Seattle, San Francisco),
Picasso at the Lapin Agile (World Premiere), The Grapes of Wrath (also Broadway and London), The Caretaker (also Broadway) and
most recently August: Osage County (also Broadway). He has appeared on television in "Nash Bridges", "Thirtysomething" and "My So-Called Life", which
he occasionally directed.
The designers of The Receptionist are Chris Covics (set), Ann
Closs-Farley (costumes), Christopher Kuhl (lighting), and John Zalewski (sound).
